Job Description
What You’ll Make Happen:
Project Planning and Reporting Analysis
- Achieve world-class internal project planning and reporting capabilities as the company continues to grow as both the leading mini-grid developer in Africa and a MW scale solar EPC company.
- Deliver cost-effective project by maintaining the cost, quality, and schedule on track meeting the project deadlines and commercial outcome using industry best practice and with high attention to detail to ensure minimal variation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all elements of solar EPC or mini-grid installations from geotechnical, structural, earthing, solar array positioning, distribution, generation, grid integration and safety systems
Role Specific Requirements:
- Work closely with Designers, Project Managers, internal and external project stakeholders to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules of renewable energy design and build construction projects using the project planning software tools.
- Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base line, status, and perform measurement baseline.
- Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost - schedule integration.
- Gather and analyse information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. On-site visits to review construction progress may be required.
- Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including dashboard maintenance.
- Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems.
- Works cross-functionally to ensure proper execution and support for projects between the SBU and BU project teams
- Maintain accurate records.
- Analysis of Project performance and profitability data.
- Preparation of Monthly Report for Sr Management.
- Facilitate and participate in schedule reviews.
- Knowledge sharing with the project team members to learn, or increase skills in, project scheduling company wide.
- Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction / energy project management experience.
- Proficiency in using MS Project or Primavera and MS Excel or equivalent software.
- Subject matter expertise to manage an integrated master schedule and the supporting detailed schedules.
- Planning, budgeting, and project cost tracking.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Experience in using the ERP tool like Odoo or equivalent.
- Superior interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, build effective interpersonal relationships, and be able to foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Creative and innovative with assignments. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in work style to better respond to multiple requests and tasks and handle changes in priorities. Able to embrace and participate in change initiatives.
- Good organizational, analytical, and writing skills, to include solid experience in writing functional and technical specifications.
- Good communication skills.
Management
- Collaborate and train an enthusiastic project team as a lead planner and reporting analyst review project progress and profitability and prepare progress to meet the needs of the organization.
- Planning project budgets and cost control.
- Implementation and continual improvement of project planning best practice and compliance with ISO 9001
Other
- Support business development and nurture relationships with clients
- Become a recognized industry expert in solar for sub-Saharan Africa and in mini-grid technology and deployment.

You Already Have:
- A minimum academic qualification of a bachelor’s in engineering, project management or closely associated field.
- Demonstration of continued professional development throughout career (membership of professional institutions, attendance to training in related fields etc.)
- Track record of construction project planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Expertise using industry standard planning and scheduling software.
- Demonstrate fundamental cross-disciplinary knowledge for project delivery.
- Site experience.
- Experience of ISO 9001 and industry best practices for ensuring high quality delivery
- Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety through training and/or responsibilities held in previous employment.
- In depth understanding of project financial reports.
- Presented at industry conferences and developed client relationships
